How can you make a difference?

As a key support role within the Acquisition unit of Individual Giving, the Fundraising Associate (Acquisition) contributes directly to UNICEF’s strategy to expand its donor base and drive sustainable private sector growth. In alignment with the PSFR team’s strategic focus on funnel-based marketing, segmentation, and audience-centric approaches, the Associate assists in executing targeted acquisition campaigns by conducting market research, supporting lead generation, and coordinating with external agencies. Their contributions help ensure that acquisition efforts are well-informed, efficiently managed, and responsive to evolving donor behaviors. By enabling the smooth execution of campaign planning and operational tasks, this role supports the broader team objectives of increasing donations, enhancing engagement, and delivering on the strategic ambitions outlined in the 2026–2030 framework. 

Under the Acquisition unit of Individual Giving on the PSFR team, the Fundraising Associate (Acquisition) assists in executing strategies to attract and acquire new donors which including market research, campaign planning, lead generation, and agency support.

The key functions are employed to achieve the following responsibilities.

Support Donor Acquisition Strategy Development and Campaign Execution in

Develop multi-channel strategies to acquire new donors that align with UNICEF's mission and goals.  

Plan and execute donor acquisition campaigns to engage potential donors effectively.  

Execute testing plans to build insights and optimise campaigns.  

Assist in campaign Performance Monitoring and Donor Research on

Monitor campaign performance to evaluate the effectiveness of acquisition strategies against KPIs and targets.  

Track campaign budgets (including media spend). 

Research and identify potential target audiences to expand UNICEF's donor base.  

Facilitate collaboration across teams to

Align donor acquisition efforts with broader marketing strategies, including brand and retention initiatives.  

Contribute to managing relationships and projects with external agencies (such as creative and fundraising agencies). 

Support the development of investment plans and business cases as required.  

Impact of Results

The incumbent is accountable for applying a broad range of specialized administrative rules and procedures in the coordination of administrative support to the PSFR team and is also predominantly accountable for applying a broad range of specialized operational rules and procedures in the coordination of administrative support to the team served. Efficiently initiating, monitoring and ensuring the provision of relevant services allows the professional staff of the organization to focus on substantive core work. The incumbent may be required to represent the supervisor in initiating, following up on and resolving issues pertaining to administrative requests. External contacts include counterparts in international organizations, bi-lateral and multi-lateral institutions and national governments to organize PSFR activities. Communications involve the exchange of information across UNICEF and externally to governing body representatives.

Education

Completion of secondary education is required, preferably supplemented by technical or university courses related to the field of work.  

Experience

A minimum of six years of relevant work experience in supporting marketing campaigns, fundraising or sales activities with financial targets is required. A bachelor’s degree from a recognized academic institution in a field relevant to the position may replace three years of related work experience. A master’s degree may replace an additional two years.

Campaign execution and logistics experience including timelines, deliverables, and vendor coordination.  

Experience in A/B testing and performance optimization for fundraising or sales campaigns.

Language

Fluency in Thai and English is required (written and spoken).

Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) is an asset.

Skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software tools. Experience using MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other UNICEF software such as SharePoint; knowledge of integrated management information systems required.
