The Global Help Desk -RRT/Nutrition Cluster Coordinator serves as a key member of the Global Nutrition Cluster Coordination team. This role strengthens coordination capacities at the regional, national, and subnational levels, with a particular focus on L2 and L3 emergencies and on Humanitarian Needs and Response Plan (HNRP) countries.
The consultant provides predictable, timely, and strategic leadership to ensure an effective and well-coordinated cluster, sector, or working group response. The consultant guides diverse stakeholders toward a shared, evidence-based vision in complex humanitarian contexts.
Working closely with the GNC Coordination Team, UNICEF Centers of Excellence (CoEs), and country offices, the consultant delivers on-demand, tailored support—both in person and remotely—to strengthen coordination, transition processes, preparedness, and anticipatory action planning across countries. Minimum requirements
<strong>Education</strong>: Master’s degree in Nutrition, public health, nutritional epidemiology, global/international health and nutrition, health/nutrition research, policy and/or management, humanitarian assistance and development, or another health and nutrition-related science.
Work Experience
<strong>A minimum of 7 years of professional experience in roles related to nutrition, specifically covering one or more of the following areas: Nutrition in emergencies programming, nutrition coordination, public health, nutrition planning and management. </strong>
Language Requirements
For this assignment, fluency in English and French is required. Good Knowledge of Spanish and other UN languages is considered an asset.
Knowledge/Expertise/Skills
9 years of relevant work experience combined with a first University degree in health or nutrition-related science may be considered in lieu of the master’s degree.
Proven experience in nutrition in emergency responses in a range of settings, including sudden onset natural disasters and conflict settings; Leading coordination in such a setting would be considered an asset
Relevant experience in nutrition projects development and management in the UN system is considered an asset.
